One Man's Story of Pain, Grace, and Love
by Del Medlin
Del and Peggy have been married for over 50 years. During those years Del was a pastor for 45 years. Peggy taught high school English for 36 years. They have served in some type of ministry for their entire married life. They have three children, Jason, a middle school minister in Weatherford, Texas; Michael, a businessman in Tampa, Florida; and Ashley, a preschool teacher in Branson, Missouri. They have 11 grandchildren. Peggy enjoys working on jigsaw puzzles, reading, cooking, and spending time with their grandchildren. Del loves all things outdoors: cycling, kayaking, walking/running, golf, and his ministry to hurting people.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Everybody loves stories!
Why? Because we can see ourselves so much better through the eyes of someone’s story. Del Medlin sharing his story is a gift to you and me. Take some time to read this book. You’ll see bits of yourself on different pages. . . you’ll see your hopes and your hurts in Del’s story. . . but more importantly, you’ll see grace, God’s grace and how He uses it to help you, me and Del in our own story.
There are times in our lives when we are fortunate to be caught in a whirlpool opportunity to give and receive the mercy of God. You are able to say to someone when they feel disqualified that in truth they are finally qualified to break the chains of shame and offer the keys to set them free. This is what this book is all about. Read it carefully for it contains all of our stories.
God has truly blessed Del Medlin with an extraordinary gift. Del has been part of our family through the good times, the sad times, and every time in between. Del’s positive attitude and how he can find the good in every situation is contagious! We look forward to many more fun lunches
with him and time to discuss his book
The Ragamuffin Road.
Del rescued me from me. He taught me how to be calmer, how to walk closer to the Lord, and how to feel better about myself. You will too after reading his book The Ragamuffin Road. Walk beside Del through these pages.
Del Medlin has shared his story in generous fashion, seeking only to serve, bless, and heal. He and Peggy are living testimonies to the depth of the grace of God. Their courage and commitment to the power of love will be a gift to all who read this book.
Del has been in our lives as a friend and counselor for over 30 years. His compassionate approach and wisdom while instructing us to keep Christ first have truly transformed our marriage for the better and made us better people. You will be blessed by his story.
I have known Del Medlin for over thirty years. For a while we both were pastors in the same community. We stayed connected as he expanded his ministry in counseling, and I went on to found the Horizons Stewardship Co. During all this time Del has been one of the most authentically loving and caring persons I have ever encountered. As Del shares his soul, he frees others to accept themselves and learn to love as God loves them. Spend some time with Del Medlin, and you will leave understanding grace as you never did before.
